Normal Hall pays tribute to Terry

Just a few words from me about one of our long serving members Terry Langham.

First, I am pleased to let you know he passed away peacefully in his sleep, there is not a lot of people here who knew him personally but those who did had plenty to say.

He has no family which I am aware of, but he did live with Des from Carpet Collection for many a year. Des said he was as mad as a box of frogs in a nice way; he would walk for England covering the whole of Leicestershire - he once pinched Des's shoes and Des got them back 3 months later and the soles were worn all the way down.

He was an avid supporter of the Gurkhas, drank regularly in the New Plough and was rubbish at telling jokes, he always bought the ladies a box of chocolates and was well liked.

He was the oldest paper boy in England doing 3 or 4 even 5 rounds a day right up to his later years. He was always writing to the Hinckley Times and never cut corners telling them what his thoughts were.

So, from what I could gather a mad, nice guy who loved his real ale who will be sadly missed
