It was agreed between Jackie Wallis, our beer festival organiser and Adrian Lock of the Battlefield Line, that under the current circumstances it would be best if the Rail Ale Festival was postponed again, until July 2022.

The lock down relaxation dates in the Government Road Map mean that it is not really feasible to plan a festival, as the May 17th rules for indoor venues are still too restrictive with social distancing, half capacity and table service. The festival depends on many people coming together, in close proximity to one another, in a social and enjoyable environment. It would be virtually impossible for the volunteer staff to observe the increased standards of hygiene and security that are essential to maintain a safe environment.
